Saints’ Dennis Allen: No Immediate Changes, Offensive Growth Top Priority

Saints’ Dennis Allen: Staff Stability Key to Offensive Revival

by Niles Carpenter/Saints Contributor

In the midst of a challenging start to the NFL season, New Orleans Saints head coach Dennis Allen has reaffirmed his commitment to the team’s coaching staff and the ongoing efforts to improve their offensive performance. Allen made it clear during a press conference on Monday that there would be no immediate staff changes or alterations in play-calling responsibilities.

He emphasized that making drastic coaching changes after just four games into the season would not be the right approach. Instead, the focus remains on finding ways to enhance their offensive output.

The Saints’ recent struggles were highlighted by their meager three field goals in a disappointing 26-9 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The team has now gone ten games without scoring more than 27 points. Despite these challenges, Coach Allen maintains a sense of urgency while avoiding panic within the team.

He believes that improvement will come from a combination of factors, including better positioning of players for success and improved execution on the field.

Saints Offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael is well aware of the criticism surrounding his position, as the play-caller often bears the brunt of scrutiny during tough times. Coach Allen acknowledged that Carmichael recognizes his responsibility and is diligently working to address the offensive issues.

In this team-oriented environment, accountability is key, and everyone, from coaches to players, is expected to contribute to the solutions and improvements needed to achieve success in the coming weeks.
