The New Orleans Saints, under the guidance of Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis, have made a significant move to bolster their roster by signing unrestricted free agents Equanimeous St. Brown and Kellen Mond. The announcement today confirms the Saints’ strategic approach in strengthening their lineup as they gear up for the upcoming NFL season. Wide receiver Equanimeous St. Brown, previously with the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears, brings extensive experience and a noteworthy track record to the team. Standing 6-5 and weighing 214 pounds, St. Brown has participated in 60 regular season games, starting 28, and has amassed 63 receptions for 928 yards along with two touchdowns over his six-year career.
St. Brown’s journey through the NFL has been marked by consistent growth and versatility. After a solid stint with the Packers followed by his time with the Bears, where he notably opened all 16 games in 2022, St. Brown has demonstrated his ability on both the receiving and rushing fronts, accumulating a career-high 378 yards from scrimmage in 2022. His performance in postseason play and his contributions to special teams highlight his multi-faceted skills, making him a valuable asset to the Saints’ offensive strategies.
In addition to St. Brown, the Saints have also secured quarterback Kellen Mond, who has shown potential during his time with the Minnesota Vikings, the Cleveland Browns, and most recently, the Indianapolis Colts. Mond’s collegiate career at Texas A&M was illustrious, setting records in total offense, passing yards, touchdowns, and completions. His professional journey has included learning stints under notable coaches, which will serve him well under the Saints’ new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak.

Saints Re-sign DB Shemar Jean-Charles
In a strategic move to bolster their secondary, the New Orleans Saints have agreed to re-sign cornerback Shemar Jean-Charles. After concluding last season with the Saints, having appeared in the final three games, Jean-Charles will continue his tenure with the team. His initial stint with the team followed a period with the San Francisco 49ers, making his return a welcome one, especially as the Saints embark on the first phase of their offseason strength and conditioning program. While his role was predominantly on special teams last year, logging only a few defensive snaps, Jean-Charles’ re-signing is timely. The deal, expected to be finalized on Monday, counters the recent departure of cornerback Isaac Yiadom to the 49ers, aiming to maintain stability and depth in the Saints’ defensive lineup.
