New Orleans,LA – The New Orleans Saints made a move to fortify their linebacker core by signing veteran Nigel Bradham to a one year deal today. Bradham 30, a fourth-round pick of the Buffalo Bills in 2012 out of Florida St was a key contributor on the 2016 Philadelphia Eagles Superbowl team. The nine year vet played in 12 games and posted 61 tackles for Philadelphia last season(which was cut short due to injury).

The Saints add Bradham to solidify the teams linebacker position which has quite a few question marks. Saints linebackers Alex Anzalone and Kiko Alonso are coming back from injury, 3rd round pick Zack Baun ia a rookie, Craig Robertson is older plus others like Kaden Ellis, Anthony Chickillo are inexperienced. Nigel is expected to come in and push for a starting position in New Orleans next to respected leader Demario Davis.

The former Florida St Seminole nine year career numbers are as follows: games played 115 total tackles 619 sacks 8.5 int 3 & forced fumbles 5.

The Saints are also signing wide receiver Bennie Fowler, Nick Underhill at NewOrleans.Football reports.

Fowler, 29, played eight games for the New York Giants last year and made 23 catches for 193 yards. New York released Fowler in November of last season. He entered the league as an undrafted player out of Michigan St back in 2014. All together in Fowlers six year career he has compiled 56 receptions for 698 yards and five touchdowns. The former Spartan has spent time with the Giants, Broncos, Bears and Patriots.

The two signings are being viewed as roster replacements for tight ends Cole Wick and Jason Vander Laan.
