New Orleans, LA– The New Orleans Saints have signed veteran cornerback Kayvon Webster to a contract according to sources. Webster a 5-11 190 lb defensive back who last season spent time playing for the Houston Texans in limited duty, comes in looking to provide experience beyond Patrick Robinson (who is recovering from a broken ankle).

Webster is a seven year veteran from the University Of South Florida, whose previous stops are with: the Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Rams & Houston Texans. His career stats are: 67 games played 122 tackles 21 pass breakups & 2 INT’s. The move is obviously to address the need for an reliable defensive back in the rotation in case of injury. The Saints tried out several defensive backs opting to sign Webster to a deal.
It is quite possible that Webster is coming in looking to be more than just a dime corner for the team, he could have higher expectations. When healthy he has proven to be a solid DB to any secondary he is involved with but only time will tell if that is the case. The Saints are displaying the philosophy that you can never have to much veteran experience in your secondary.
