Saints Ink Veteran DB to Team

The New Orleans Saints have bolstered their secondary by signing veteran defensive back Will Harris to a one-year deal. Harris, who was originally drafted by the Detroit Lions in the third round (81st overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft from Boston College, brings a wealth of experience and a strong performance record to the Saints. Throughout his five-year stint with the Lions, Harris played in 81 regular season games, starting in 40 of them.

In 2023, Harris was an integral part of the Lions’ defense, appearing in all 17 regular season games with two starts at cornerback. He recorded 17 tackles, snagged one interception, and defended two passes, maintaining a strong presence on the field. Before turning pro, Harris had an impressive college career at Boston College, where he played 50 games for the Eagles from 2015 to 2018. During his tenure, he amassed 225 total tackles, 12 pass defenses, and 7.5 stops for loss, among other stats. Harris’ robust experience at free safety, his ability to cover the slot, and his special teams skills make him a valuable addition to the Saints’ roster.
