Saints starting left guard Andrus Peat had a concerning exit from practice as he walked himself to the locker room, visibly in pain due to a quadriceps injury. Head coach Dennis Allen addressed the situation, noting that they would closely assess Peat’s condition to determine the extent of the injury. Despite the setback, Allen expressed some relief, stating that he doesn’t believe Peat’s situation is as dire as Trai Turner’s season-ending injury, where Turner suffered a torn tendon.
Source says Andrus Peat is expected to be OK. It is, indeed, just a quad strain.

The Saints’ coaching staff believes that Peat’s ailment is likely a strain. Peat’s injury history is worth noting, as he has experienced multiple setbacks throughout his eight-year career, causing him to miss a significant number of games. In a move to address financial constraints, the Saints and Andrus Peat reached a revised contract agreement, resulting in substantial cap savings of approximately $9.5 million for the team. As the season progresses, the Saints face the challenge of restructuring their roster while aiming to maximize their performance on the field.
