New Orleans Saints star running back Alvin Kamara took to social media on Saturday to refute claims that he had requested a trade. In response to a post on X suggesting he formally sought a move from the Saints, Kamara was quick to call the rumor “incorrect” and labeled the report as “a lie.”
Kamara, a five-time Pro Bowler and one of the NFL’s most versatile backs, emphasized his commitment to the Saints and even expressed interest in spending the remainder of his career in New Orleans.
Recent reports had added fuel to the speculation. Per NewOrleans.Football’s Nick Underhill, trade discussions involving Kamara had recently reopened. Initially, Kamara tabled those talks at the start of the regular season, expressing that he didn’t want contract or trade discussions to become a distraction.
However, it seems either Kamara changed his stance or the team’s strong interest in talking shop prompted him to give his agent the green light to revisit those conversations. Even with this development, Kamara’s public stance suggests he is not pushing for a move.
While the Saints continue to navigate a challenging year, Kamara’s response sends a clear message: he is fully committed to the team. Despite speculation about his future and the Saints’ offensive struggles, Kamara is not seeking an exit.
With his contract running through 2025 and a salary cap hit that could make him difficult to move, Kamara remains a key part of the Saints’ plans as they look to turn their season around.
