Saints Sign WR Kevin Austin Jr. to Team

By Niles Carpenter, Saints Contributor

Saints Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced today that the club has agreed to terms with wide receiver Kevin Austin Jr. Austin, a 6-2, 200-pound playmaker, was originally signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent in 2022 out of Notre Dame.

After spending his rookie season on the Jaguars practice squad and attending training camp with the team in 2023, Austin showcased his talents with the UFL’s Birmingham Stallions, recording 15 receptions for 253 yards and two touchdowns. At Notre Dame, he played in 26 games with 13 starts, amassing 54 receptions for 996 yards and seven touchdowns. In 2021, he was particularly impressive, starting all 13 games and earning first-team Phil Steele All-Independent honors with 48 receptions for 888 yards and seven touchdowns. Austin’s signing adds depth and potential to the Saints’ receiving corps as they gear up for the upcoming season.
