The New Orleans Saints appear to have identified their top candidate for the head coaching position: Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore. According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Saints General Manager Mickey Loomis informed other candidates that Moore remains the frontrunner.
While no final decision has been made, Moore is expected to meet with the Saints after the Super Bowl, signaling the organization’s intent to secure his services. The timing aligns with NFL rules, which restrict further discussions until the big game concludes on February 9 in New Orleans.
Moore’s credentials as an offensive mastermind are well-documented. His rise to prominence began during his tenure with the Dallas Cowboys, where he orchestrated a high-powered offense that consistently ranked among the league’s best. Moore’s ability to adapt to challenges, such as navigating quarterback injuries or revamping game plans, has been a hallmark of his coaching career.
Most recently, he elevated the Philadelphia Eagles‘ offensive attack, showcasing versatility and innovation. His leadership has been credited with maximizing talent, including standout seasons from players like Keenan Allen, Justin Herbert, and CeeDee Lamb.
If Moore ultimately takes the helm in New Orleans, the Saints could benefit from his track record of developing quarterbacks and dynamic offenses. With a roster that includes promising young talent and experienced veterans, Moore’s approach could provide the fresh perspective needed to reinvigorate a franchise eager to return to playoff contention. In other news Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Darren Rizzi Saints interim HC likely becomes the Denver Broncos’ special teams coordinator if he doesn’t get the Saints’ head coaching job.
