Cameron Erving Joins the Practice Squad
The New Orleans Saints made an announcement on Wednesday that they have signed tackle Cameron Erving to their practice squad. Erving, a nine-year NFL veteran with a wealth of experience, brings valuable depth to the Saints’ offensive line. He has started 56 games out of 95 career appearances, showcasing his versatility and reliability throughout his career.
Erving’s journey in the NFL began when he was selected by the Cleveland Browns with the 19th overall pick in the 2015 NFL draft. Subsequently, he was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs before the 2017 season. Erving has also made stops with the Dallas Cowboys and the Carolina Panthers, demonstrating his adaptability and utility across multiple teams.

New England Patriots Make a Trade
In other NFL news, insider Ian Rapoport reported on Wednesday that the New England Patriots have executed a trade for cornerback J.C. Jackson from the Los Angeles Chargers, according to sources informed of the deal. This transaction involves a swap of 2025 sixth and seventh-round selections between the two teams.
The Patriots’ decision to acquire Jackson follows rookie corner Christian Gonzalez’s departure from the field during the team’s Week 4 loss in Dallas. Gonzalez suffered a dislocated shoulder injury and, according to Rapoport, is expected to miss the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery. The addition of J.C. Jackson aims to bolster New England’s secondary and address the void left by Gonzalez’s unfortunate injury. The Saints face the Patriots next Sunday in New England.
