Dallas Cowboys running back Miles Sanders has been ruled out for the remainder of the season, EVP Stephen Jones said Friday on 105.3 The Fan. That means rookie Jaydon Blue will now take over as the Cowboys’ RB2 behind Javonte Williams .
Sanders signed a one-year contract with the Cowboys as the franchise overhauled its running back room. He served as Williams’ primary backup to start the season before knee and ankle injuries kept him out of last week’s game against the New York Jets. Through four games, Sanders took 20 carries for 117 yards and a touchdown.
In Sanders’ absence last week, Blue suited up for the Cowboys for the first time. Now, the former Texas standout is the primary backup running back behind Williams, and Jones expressed his excitement.

Miles Sanders spent the last two years with the Carolina Panthers before signing with the Cowboys. He started his career with the Philadelphia Eagles, putting together a Pro Bowl season in 2022 when he rushed for 1,269 yards and 11 touchdowns.
