Cam Ward isn’t used to losing. On Sunday, the Tennessee Titans fell to 0-4 on the season after suffering a 26-0 loss to the Houston Texans. After the game, the rookie quarterback didn’t bite his tongue when asked where the Titans can make improvements.
“Everything. From interception to a penalty to an incompletion by me — a bad ball — and then once you past the 50, we just not continuing to drive. So, I mean, we keeping it a buck right now, we ass,” Ward said . “We 0-4. At this point, we’ve got nothing to lose. We’ve dropped a quarter of our f***ing games, and we’re yet to do anything.
“We have to lock in, especially myself. From the offensive line, from the defensive line, from the special teams, to all three phases — we have to play together. We have not played together this year yet, and that’s just something that, we want to preach about it every day, everyday, ‘We gotta do better.’ And we’re doing that, but it has to show up on Sundays. It hasn’t showed up yet, but it’s gotta show up next week.”
In the loss, Cam Ward completed just 10-of-his-26 pass attempts for 108 yards and no touchdowns, while throwing one interception. The Texans sacked Ward twice.
Ward’s performance on Sunday was only his latest lackluster outing. Through four games, Ward has only completed 54.5% of his pass attempts for 506 yards and two touchdowns, compared to one interception.
In fairness, Ward is constantly under pressure. He’s been sacked 17 times already this season. The Titans’ struggles are nothing new.
