Terry McLaurin, Washington Commanders take major step in contract dispute

The Washington Commanders and Terry McLaurin could be closer to a contract resolution, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. McLaurin is reportedly coming off the PUP list, signaling a ramp up period.

“A small step: Commanders WR Terry McLaurin is coming off the PUP list, as he’s set to ramp up — the next step in returning to practice,” Rapoport wrote on Twitter/X. “There is no indication of progress on an extension. But with the season looming, McLaurin will begin the process of getting his body ready.”

While it doesn’t indicate a new contract coming for the star wide receiver, the fact that he’s getting back onto the field could suggest both sides want to make it work with the season just weeks away.

As of last week, it was a difficult situation for McLaurin and the Commanders. The star pass catcher even requested a trade and ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler explained the difficulty of the situation.
