One of the most interesting quarterback competitions of the NFL preseason will be the battle between former first-round picks in Indianapolis between Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones. As the Colts get their preseason schedule underway this week against the Baltimore Ravens, head coach Shane Steichen said Richardson will get the start and play about a quarter and a half before giving way to Jones. He also said the two will swap for the team’s second preseason contest against the Green Bay Packers. While Richardson has flashed the insane arm and athletic ability that made him a tantalizing prospect out of Florida, injuries and conditioning have resulted in him missing time over his first two NFL campaigns. In 2024 he started 11 games, throwing just eight touchdowns to 12 interceptions and a 47.7 completion percentage.
