The Golden State Warriors were able to withstand a 43-point barrage from Luka Doncic and the Los Angeles Lakers to win their season opener 119-109, thanks in large part to 31 points from Jimmy Butler. Butler scored more than half of his points on a perfect 16-for-16 shooting from the free throw line, getting him off to a good start for his bet with Draymond Green that he’ll have a higher free throw percentage this year than teammate Steph Curry. Unfortunately for Butler, Curry was also a perfect 8-for-8 and currently holds the all-time record for free throw percentage at 91.2 compared to Butler’s 84.4.
