The ‘Sub-2.00 ERA seasons by starting pitchers’ quiz

Happy 75th birthday to four-time All-Star, two-time ERA champion, 1978 Cy Young Award winner and two-time World Series Champion Ron Guidry! “Gator,” spent his 14 MLB seasons with the New York Yankees and,  despite retiring in 1988, is still third all-time on the New York Yankees strikeout list (1,178), fifth in wins (170) and tied for sixth in shutouts (26).  Which brings us to today’s quiz. Guidry posted a 1.74 ERA with nine complete game shutouts in his 1978 Cy Young campaign. With that being said, how many of the 24 Major League starting pitchers that qualified for the ERA title and had an Earned Run Average of less than 2.00 since 1969 can you name in five minutes? Good luck! Did you like this quiz? Are there any quizzes you’d like to see us make in the future?
