Titans DT Jeffery Simmons' home burglarized during 49ers game

The home of Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons was burglarized while the team was in California to face the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday night. In a statement, the Titans said nobody was home when the incident happened.

“Team security is actively working with Metro Nashville Police Department to recover items stolen from Jeff Simmons’ house,” the Titans said, per ESPN. “No residents were home during the burglary.”

The Metro Nashville Police Department said the burglary happened at 7 p.m. local time, “when at least six suspects entered after smashing out window glass. Multiple items were taken.” Jeffery Simmons called the police when he arrived home on Monday morning.

Simmons reacted to the burglary on his Instagram Story. “What if any of my family members was in my house??” Simmons wrote. “All that materialistic s**t you can have, but this is crazy!”

Following his initial reaction, Simmons issued a statement. “I want to extend my sincere appreciation to the Metro Nashville Police Department and the Titans’ security team for their professionalism and swift response,” the veteran defensive lineman said. “Their dedication to ensuring the safety of our entire Nashville community does not go unnoticed. I remain thankful for God’s protection and grace.”
