Travis Hunter injury update: Jaguars star's practice status revealed ahead of final preseason game

by: Daniel Hager 18 hours ago DanielHagerOn3

Jacksonville Jaguars two-way star Travis Hunter ran full-speed sprints off to the side of Jacksonville/Miami’s joint practice on Thursday, per NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe. It was a positive sign just weeks away from the regular season, but he did not practice as he is still dealing with an upper-body injury.

Hunter did not play in last week’s preseason game as he continues to deal with a minor injury. He has instead been watching practice with a play sheet in his hands while standing next to Jaguars wide receivers coach Edgar Bennett , according to ESPN’s Michael DiRocco.

Travis Hunter is running near full speed sprints off to the side along with Tyson Campbell while Dolphins-Jaguars are going thru joint practice.

It doesn’t look like we’re going to see Hunter or Campbell today. Both dealing with minor injuries.

Head coach Liam Coen revealed that it is team protocol for a player to stand next to a coach with a play sheet if he’s hurt, so they can stay focused on the task at hand even though they’re not participating.

“That’s what they’re supposed to do when they’re hurt,” Coen said, via ESPN. “We want ’em to make sure that they’re locked in, getting all the calls, understanding the call and being able to watch and execute as well in their minds.”
