Travis Hunter Sr., father of Heisman winner, arrested, jailed in Florida

Travis Hunter Sr ., the father of Heisman winner and Jacksonville Jaguars rookie Travis Hunter , was arrested and jailed, per TMZ Sports. Hunter Sr. reportedly violated the conditions of his probation.

He was booked into jail Tuesday on one charge of probation violation, per TMZ. Hunter Sr. was allegedly too far from his monitoring device.

“Law enforcement alleged in court documents that Hunter Sr. was ‘too far away from his’ electric monitoring device for 11 minutes on June 28,’” the report read. “On July 4, they claim they tested the equipment and it was ‘functioning properly.’ They added that Hunter Sr. told them he was ‘moving too fast and forgot it.’ An arrest warrant for the 39-year-old was issued over the alleged violation on July 10. Records show Hunter Sr. is now due in court for a hearing on the matter on Thursday.”

Hunter Sr. was on probation over allegations he was in possession of a gun drugs during a traffic stop. That incident took place in 2023.

Travis Hunter Jr. was drafted No. 2 overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars in April out of Colorado. His father was unable to attend the Heisman Trophy ceremony in December, but was granted court permission to travel to Green Bay to watch his son get selected in the NFL Draft.
