Jacksonville Jaguars EDGE rusher Travon Walker underwent a successful surgery on his injured wrist and is considered day-to-day, according to first-year head coach Liam Coen , via NFL.comโs Ian Rapoport. Coen also hasnโt ruled out Walker, the Jaguarsโ No. 1 overall draft pick in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Georgia , as an option to play in Jacksonvilleโs Monday night game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The 6-foot-5 and 272-pound fourth-year player was forced to leave last weekendโs 26-21 win over San Francisco in the second quarter with a serious wrist injury. Walker saw a wrist specialist on Monday and underwent surgery earlier this week.
Through what amounts to 3 1/2 games, Walker has tallied two sacks, five tackles and seven assists while providing the Jaguars a strong pass rush off the edge in his fourth professional season. Walker has been a stalwart along Jacksonvilleโs defensive line since being taken No. 1 overall in 2022, including making his 40th consecutive start against the 49ers, according to Jacksonville.com.
Walker has started 48 of his 49 career games in Jacksonville across his first three seasons. In that time, Walker has accumulated 162 combined tackles, 24 sacks โ including 10 or more each of the past two seasons โ five forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.
