As Trevon Diggs works himself back from another knee injury, most of his rehab has been done away from the Dallas Cowboys facility. Enough to where the team decided to dock is pay by $500,000. A part of Diggs’ contract, news came out just before heading out West to Oxnard.

On Tuesday, Diggs gave his reaction to a sizable check coming out of his pocket. He was honest, saying it was not a move he was expecting. But in the end, there will always be an opportunity to earn some of the money back.

“I didn’t expect that,” Diggs said via The Athletic’s Jon Machota. “It kind of hurt my feelings. It’s OK, though, hopefully I make it back in incentives.”

Jones himself was honest as well about the situation during Monday’s State of the Union press conference. He cited the issue being a contractual one. In Jones’ mind, Diggs did not earn the money, and the Cowboys had to take action.

“He didn’t earn it,” Jones said via Machota. “He didn’t come. That’s in his contract. … Bottom line is those are contractual things.”

Diggs missed six games during the 2025 season due to an issue with the same knee from the previous year. A torn ACL sidelined the star cornerback for all but two games in 2024. Availability has been an issue since signing a massive extension with the Cowboys.
