In a commanding display of precision and determination, the No. 24 Tulane Green Wave cruised to victory against the South Alabama Jaguars, securing a resounding 37-17 win. The star of the show was undoubtedly Tulane quarterback Michael Pratt, who showcased his accuracy and poise throughout the game, connecting with his receivers with uncanny precision. Pratt completed 14 of 15 passes for a staggering 294 yards and four touchdowns, reaffirming his status as one of the most promising quarterbacks in college football.

Despite a lone drop by Jha’Quan Jackson, the speedy receiver more than made up for it with his explosive plays. Pratt’s touchdown passes were nothing short of spectacular, including deep strikes to Jackson for 48 and 47-yard touchdowns, as well as a 47-yard connection with Lawrence Keys. The Green Wave‘s offense was firing on all cylinders, eager to validate their preseason AP Top 25 ranking against a South Alabama team that had notched 10 victories in the previous season.

Tulane seized control early, racing to a 24-7 lead before South Alabama made a brief attempt to close the gap. However, the Green Wave extended their lead with an unconventional flea flicker. Running back Shaadie Clayton-Johnson initiated the play, handing off to Keys, who then pitched the ball back to Pratt as Jackson streaked into open space. Pratt’s pinpoint pass found Jackson in stride, increasing the lead to 31-17.

Kicker Valentino Ambrosio contributed two field goals to seal the deal for Tulane. Meanwhile, South Alabama’s quarterback, Carter Bradley, faced a formidable Green Wave defense that sacked him five times and forced turnovers, including interceptions and a fumble. Bradley did manage to contribute with a touchdown pass and a rushing touchdown, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Tulane’s dominant performance.

Tulane‘s victory was crucial to maintain their ranking, and they did so convincingly against an opponent they were favored to beat. Pratt’s four touchdowns in the game also allowed him to tie the career touchdown record set by Patrick Ramsey in 2001. Looking ahead, Tulane will face another challenging matchup as they host No. 22 Mississippi next Saturday. Pratt, the catalyst of their success, emphasized the importance of team effort, stating, “All I’m really worried about is helping my team win.”
