U.S. suffers upset loss at FIBA Women’s 3×3 World Cup

The USA women’s basketball team has been upset by Mongolia in the Quarterfinals at the FIBA 3×3 World Cup. The final score was 18-15 and the exciting victory happened in front of Mongolia’s home fans. Mongolia is ranked 10th in the world and had to fight its way through the play-in round, where it defeated China (second ranked team in the world) in overtime, 21-19, before defeating the USA , ranked fifth in the world. The USA team was made up of Sarah Strong, a rising sophomore at UConn, Mikaylah Williams, a rising junior at LSU, Sahara Williams, a rising junior at Oklahoma and Morgan Maly, who just completed her college career at Creighton.
