Update emerges on Terry McLaurin’s potential Commanders holdout

Washington Commanders wide receiver Terry McLaurin did not attend mandatory minicamp last month as he seeks a new contract, and it does not sound like the two sides have made much — if any — progress toward an extension since then. McLaurin is entering the final season of a three-year, $68.2 million contract extension he signed in 2022. He wants a new deal, and a report last month said the two-time Pro Bowl wideout has grown frustrated with the Commanders. During a Sunday appearance on “SportsCenter,” ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that McLaurin is still “not happy with where things are with an extension.” Veterans are required to report to training camp in Washington on July 22, which gives the Commanders roughly two weeks to work something out with McLaurin.
