After bouncing around the last few seasons with different NFL teams, veteran wide receiver DJ Chark is in search of a new club.
Chark, 28, recently revealed that he’s weighing his options for his NFL career.
“It depends,” Chark said, via Kyle Odegard of Sports Casting. “It will have to be something that makes sense, from a family perspective and also from an Xs and Os perspective. Getting up and going to any team just for the excitement — I’ll always love the game, but at this point, putting myself and my family in a great position is what’s ideal for me.”

Last season, Chark played for the Los Angeles Chargers and missed 10 games due to a hip injury. In the seven games played, Chark compiled four catches for 31 receiving yards and one touchdown in his stint with the Bolts.
Chark was a second-round pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2018. The former LSU product spent four seasons in Duval. In 2019, Chark produced his season as he contributed 73 receptions for 1,008 yards and eight TDs to earn a Pro Bowl nod.
When Chark entered free agency for the first time in his career, the wideout signed a one-year contract with the Detroit Lions. It was a prove-it deal for Chark after he suffered a fractured ankle in 2021. The following season, he would eventually sign another one-year, prove-it deal with the Carolina Panthers. As the No. 2 receiver in Carolina, Chark recorded 35 catches, 525 receiving yards and five scores.
There could be a possible reunion for Chark with the Chargers after veteran wide receiver Mike Williams informed the team this week that he is retiring from the NFL.
Only time will tell if Chark gets a call from the Bolts or another team in search of a crafty veteran wideout. If he does, Chark says he’s still staying in shape.
“I do work out still,” he said. “I try to make sure I don’t have that dad bod.”
