Washington Commanders trim quarterback room ahead of 53-man roster deadline

The Washington Commanders are releasing quarterback Sam Hartman ahead of Tuesday’s 53-man roster deadline, per NFL Insider  Ian Rapoport . He is expected to return to Washington’s practice squad is he clears waivers.

Hartman completed 25/46 passes for 207 yards, zero touchdowns and four interceptions in three preseason games. The Commanders now boast three quarterbacks on their 53-man roster; starter Jayden Daniels , Marcus Mariota and Josh Johnson .
