WATCH: Andy Reid bumps Travis Kelce amid heated exchange on Chiefs sideline

by: Chandler Vessels 53 minutes ago ChandlerVessels

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and coach Andy Reid were caught exchanging a few words on the sideline in Sunday night’s matchup against the New York Giants. Cameras captured the pair yelling at each other in the first half following a drive that resulted in a missed field goal despite the Chiefs taking over at the Giants 47-yard line following an interception.

It was clear frustrations from how the offense, which had still yet to score a touchdown were boiling over. Reid even bumped the tight end slightly as the two continued to get in each other’s face and passionately state their case.

The Chiefs offense hasn’t been as potent as usual to start this season as it is down two of its top receivers. Xavier Worthy suffered an injury in Week 1 while Rashee Rice is still serving a six-game suspension.

That has made things difficult for Kelce, quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the rest of the team, which is off to an 0-2 start on the season. Those offensive struggles have certainly been on display in Sunday night’s game with the Chiefs leading just 6-0 in the second quarter.

It wouldn’t be long after the altercation between Andy Reid and Travis Kelce that the Giants would go on to score their first touchdown of the game. Running back Cam Skattebo ran in a 13-yard touchdown to tie the game 6-6 after the extra point was blocked.

That’s where the score still stands heading into halftime. Kelce has caught just three of seven targets for 13 yards this far, and he’ll hope to turn things around in the second half as the Chiefs look for their first win.
