The Dallas Cowboys are banking on the Dak Prescott – George Pickens connection this season. Pickens comes to Dallas via the Pittsburgh Steelers in an offseason trade. Needing a secondary receiver to CeeDee Lamb , Pickens is thought to be the right guy for the job.
Especially due to his vertical threat ability — something the Cowboys have not had since Michael Gallup was a consistent player for them. Thankfully, flashes are being shown during training camp in Oxnard. And the latest came during Tuesday’s practice.
Pickens was going up the left-hand sideline, one-on-one against Andrew Booth . Prescott fired from a clean pocket, throwing it up for a 50/50 opportunity. Pickens put together a few nice seasons in Pittsburgh but is hoping to fully break out right before hitting free agency. Last year saw him catch 59 passes for 900 yards, solid numbers given the circumstances. You have to imagine Pickens wants a lot more than three touchdowns, though.
