After seven games, Travis Hunter has secured his first NFL touchdown. The No. 2 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft found the end zone after carving up the Rams’ secondary and hauling in a 34-yard pass from quarterback Trevor Lawrence to cut Los Angeles’ lead to 28-7.
Though the touchdown was Hunter’s first, he acted like it was nothing new, hardly celebrating the score. He has played a key role in the Jaguars’ strong start to this season, earning snaps on both offense and defense.
“Every day it’s a great challenge for us. His position coaches, athletic trainers, media – everybody has to be involved in the process,” Jaguars head coach Liam Coen said of utilizing Hunter, per the BBC. “When you’re working with a guy that just loves football, loves to work, loves to play, you really want to help people like that… I think he’s somebody who’ll continue to get better each week and it has been a fun challenge so far.
“It’s our job to make sure we’re scheming him open, putting him in positions to be the No. 1 [option] more often… When he is, we’ve got to identify it and find him, and he’s got to be in the right spot at the tight time.”
