New York Giants star receiver Malik Nabers was hurt on Sunday in a game against the Los Angeles Chargers. And teammate Kayvon Thibodeaux found out about the severity of the injury in the locker room after the game.
He was devastated. Rightfully so.
“Yeah did they give an update on that?” Thibodeaux asked a reporter who was mid-question. The reporter had mentioned the loss of Nabers.
“Feared it’s a torn ACL,” the reporter responded. That Malik Nabers news had been reported only moment earlier.
At that point, Thibodeaux’s facial expression changed. He closed his eyes and looked up toward the ceiling briefly before dropping an expletive.
“F***. Man, you know, he’s a ballplayer, man. That hurts,” Thibodeaux said. “But we definitely, I hate to say it, but we didn’t blink an eye. He’s a guy we need, a part of our team we need out there on the field, but it’s next man up. That’s the name of the game, and we’re just got to keep on going.”
You can see Thibodeaux’s reaction to the Malik Nabers news below. He was clearly upset.
