WATCH: Michael Penix Jr. confronts Dallas Cowboys fan at preseason game

by: Nick Kosko 1 hour ago nickkosko59

Atlanta Falcons QB Michael Penix Jr. confronted a Dallas Cowboys fan Friday as he walked to the locker room. The fan called Penix by name, but jokingly said Michael “Penis.”

Of course, with the way Penix’s name is spelled, the joke is easy to make for someone looking to do so. A news station in Savannah, Georgiaalso misspelled his last name accidentally, flashing the referenced word on the screen as his name.

Naturally, Penix wasn’t too pleased with the childish remark. He then confronted the fan, who seemed to backtrack a little bit when he actually got the quarterback’s attention.

Penix eventually made his way to the locker room without any further confrontation. But it was an unfortunate incident for the QB as the fan’s jeer was caught on camera too.

After the Falcons signed Kirk Cousins in free agency last season, they selected Penix at No. 8 overall in last year’s draft. Penix started the last three games for the Falcons last year and posted a 1-2 record, with both losses coming in overtime. Overall, Penix played in five games in 2024 and threw for 775 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions.
