Andy Dalton ‘s age showed itself in the Carolina Panthers’ preseason showdown against the Cleveland Browns on Friday. In the third quarter, Dalton pump-faked a screen pass to his left, only to fall to the ground after attempting to turn and look down field.
The 37-year-old quarterback couldn’t help but smile and throw his hands up after the play. Dalton is entering his 15th season in the NFL and his third with the Panthers.
Last season, Andy Dalton made six appearances and five starts for the Panthers after the team benched 2023 first overall pick Bryce Young . In his six showings, Dalton completed 66.3% of his pass attempts for 989 yards and seven touchdowns, compared to six interceptions.

Alas, Dalton lost the starting job after suffering an injury to the thumb on his throwing hand in a car accident. Young remained the team’s starter for the rest of the season, even after Dalton fully recovered.
On February 18, Dalton signed a two-year contract extension with the Panthers. His contract is worth $8 million and has a maximum value of $10 million. Young was excited for Dalton to secure his future with the team.
