Carolina Panthers wide receiver Xavier Legette and Cleveland Browns safety Rayshawn Jenkins were both ejected from Friday’s preseason game. The two got into a scuffle in the first quarter, which escalated to the point they got tossed from the game.
Legette was tasked with blocking Jenkins on a first-quarter run, and tempers flared after the whistles blew. The two players were separated, and Legette’s helmet came off. He also appeared to throw a punch at one point.
As a result, the two players were ejected when things escalated. The situation provided early fireworks in the two teams’ preseason opener.

Xavier Legette is getting ready for his second season in the NFL after the Panthers traded up to select him in the first round in 2024. He became a key target for Bryce Young in his first year out of South Carolina , finishing second on the roster with 497 receiving yards and four touchdowns across 16 games.
Jenkins, meanwhile, is preparing for his first year in Cleveland after spending 2024 with the Seattle Seahawks. He had 53 total tackles and a 102-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown in 13 games, including nine starts. Slater began his career with the Los Angeles Chargers from 2017-20 before spending three years with the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2021-23.
