After a long offseason, college football fans were welcomed back to a sloppy yet charming slate of games. It began with a rainy Aer Lingus College Football Classic in Dublin, Ireland, as No. 17 Kansas State and No. 22 Iowa State combined for four fumbles in the first half. The two squads had only put the ball on the turf a total of 11 times throughout the entire 2024 campaign. On top of that, players were slipping left and right, and wide receivers couldn’t secure a catch.
