Makhi Boone is a three-star cornerback from Lakewood, Ohio, which is right outside of Cleveland. Boone had been committed to the Miami (OH) Redhawks for some time, and it made sense. Oxford, Ohio, is just a few hours drive southwest of Cleveland, and the Redhawks gave Boone the chance to play football in-state while still competing at a relatively high level. MAC football is no joke, and the Redhawks are currently one of the top teams in the conference at 5-4 (4-1 conference). It all seemed like a good match, and Boone had been committed to Miami (OH) since May, but then, Rich Rodriguez and the West Virginia Mountaineers came calling early in November.
