Despite missing more than half of his fifth and ninth seasons in the NFL, Dak Prescott still ranks among the league’s most prolific passers since he entered the NFL in 2016. His 34,024 career passing yards are the fifth most by any player in that span, behind only Jared Goff, Matthew Stafford, Kirk Cousins and Patrick Mahomes.
Prescott has been steadily climbing the Cowboys all-time passing list every since he earned the starting job in his first season as a fourth-round pick out of Mississippi State. He cleared the first Hall of Fame quarterback on the list – Roger Staubach – in just his sixth season in the NFL.
Earlier this season in Week 6 against the Panthers, Dak Prescott eclipsed Hall of Famer Troy Aikman‘s 32,942 yards for third on the all-time franchise leaderboard. Now he needs just 160 more to clear the final rung in Cowboys passing history – Tony Romo‘s current record of 34,024.
