San Francisco 49ers (4-1) quarterback Brock Purdy did not participate in practice on Thursday. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Mac Jones is on track to start Sunday’s Week 6 road contest against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-1).

Purdy is dealing with a variant of turf toe that has kept him out of three of the 49ers’ five games this season. San Francisco has continued to win despite a litany of injuries, going 3-0 with Jones under center, including a 26-23 Week 5 overtime win over the Los Angeles Rams (3-2).

“Brock Purdy not spotted practicing at the start of practice moments ago, which means Mac Jones seems to be tracking to start Sunday at Tampa once again,” Schefter said on NFL Live . “Mac Jones has been stellar this season. Brock Purdy is still dealing with a turf toe injury right now, and right now, the indications are it will be another week of Mac Jones.”
