Cowboys owner Jerry Jones reacts to tie with Micah Parsons, Packers

Sunday’s meeting with Micah Parsons didn’t end the way Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys hoped it would. With Jones and the Cowboys having revenge on their minds after trading Parsons to the Green Bay Packers this offseason, the game finished in the mot anticlimactic way possible: a tie.

Speaking postgame, Jones expressed his pride in the team for even competing to give themselves a chance to win after entering as home underdogs. At the same time, the final score left a sour taste in his mouth.

“I’m proud of this bunch,” Jones said per Jon Machota of The Athletic . “I thought we played well enough to win the game. I’m sick for these players, sick for these coaches and sick for our fans that we didn’t bring home a win.”

Dallas led 37-34 with 43 seconds remaining after Dak Prescott connected with George Pickens for a touchdown and looked to potentially be heading toward the victory. However, Green Bay quickly marched down the field to kick the game-tying field goal and send it into overtime.

Dallas struck first in the extra period to kick a field goal and go up 40-37 at the 4:40 mark. That gave the ball back to the Packers who could tie with a field goal of their own or win it with a touchdown.
