The Dallas Cowboys hoped George Pickens would play an important role for them after an offseason trade. Maybe not in this exact scenario, though. Pickens currently serves as the team’s top wide receiver due to a CeeDee Lamb injury.
At some point, Lamb will return to the field to continue one of the NFL’s top one-two duos. However, Dak Prescott believes a statement was made by Pickens during the Green Bay tie. Teams will have to worry about him and Lamb on every dropback, turning into a massive advantage for the Cowboys.
“It definitely was a show, right, for the rest of the league and put them on notice,” Prescott said via ESPN’s Todd Archer. “So, it’s about continuing to build and understanding when [Lamb] comes back that you just got another big-time weapon. Got two ones and guys that you can move around. Guys that you can trust in different positions. You can trust on dang near any route.”
Season highs across the board by Pickens when looking at the stat sheet vs. the Packers. He caught eight passes for 134 yards and two touchdowns. Going for an average of 16.8 yards per reception is a number Prescott takes every single time too, proving to be great production. Even more impressive with Lamb watching from the sidelines, meaning Green Bay put their best defensive backs on Pickens.
