Jayden Daniels injury update: Adam Schefter reveals devastating possibility for Commanders QB

The NFL season is far from over, but it feels over for the Washington Commanders. Late in their blowout loss on Sunday night to Seattle, the Commanders saw star quarterback Jayden Daniels carry the ball. Taking a hit, he landed awkwardly on his left arm, and it was clear right away that something was disastrously wrong.

It’s been diagnosed as a dislocated elbow in Daniels’ non-throwing arm. More testing is coming, though. In the meantime, ESPN’s NFL insider Adam Schefter shared on Get Up that there is a real chance his season is over.

“Jayden Daniels dislocated his elbow,” Adam Schefter said. “He’s going to have an MRI today to confirm that diagnosis, which I think everybody saw what happened. He’s going to be out indefinitely. Think about where the Commanders are in their season and think about how much Jayden Daniels means to that franchise, and think about the history of this franchise. I would venture to tell you right now there’s a realistic chance Jayden Daniels will not play again this season.”

Daniels would finish that loss to Seattle, completing 16 of 22 passes for 153 yards and an interception. He also had 51 rushing yards and one touchdown on the ground. If this is the end of his season, it would be an extremely disappointing sophomore season after being named Offensive Rookie of the Year a season ago. He’s played in six games, completing 62.5 percent of his passes for 1,184 yards and eight touchdowns. Daniels also carried the ball for 262 yards and two touchdowns.
