The contract situation between the Dallas Cowboys and superstar linebacker Micah Parsons has hit an impasse, with both sides remaining far away from coming to terms on an extension for the Penn State product.
Just Thursday night, Parsons removed all “Dallas Cowboy” related content from his social media accounts. He removed his profile picture which featured him in a Cowboy jersey, and took the Dallas Cowboys out of his bio all together. It now reads “ Penn State 2021. TBD.”
Former All-Pro linebacker Bart Scott went scorched earth on Jerry Jones and the Cowboys organization on Friday morning’s edition of Get Up , comparing the situation to working on a plantation.
“I am a grown a** man,” Scott said. “You ain’t my daddy and this ain’t no plantation. What I know is my value and I know what I’m worth. The market dictates who I am and what I’m worth. And what do you mean? I’m close to my agent and still work for my agent right now. My agent is the closest thing to family I’ve ever had. You’re temporarily my boss. You’re my boss. It’s no personal relationship with me and you. We ain’t homies. We ain’t boys. Because I know if I got injured right now, you’ll step over me and hire the next guy right? I’m not some child. I know what the hell Im talking about and I pay my agent so I don’t get screwed over like players used to.”
This comment comes less than one day after Jerry Jones revealed that Parsons’ agent, David Mulugheta , told them to shove the contract offer up their a**.
Scott states that Parsons teammates would understand if he held out
“The same thing I had to watch Emmit Smith go through after he put his body on the line playing through separated shoulders,” he continued. “Gonna be sitting up there on pain pills the rest of his life because he’s probably got arthritic limbs getting post-surgeries in his 50s. So that’s why my agent protects me from myself because he knows how much I love the game and you know how much I love the game.”
