by Milton Manningham/ LSU Football Contributor
The LSU Tigers have secured a triumphant end to their season and a promising start to the future. The Tigers, who rallied to clinch a thrilling 35-31 victory over the Wisconsin Badgers in the ReliaQuest Bowl, have now landed the top prospects in the 2025 class, marking a significant milestone in their storied football program.
The excitement reached a crescendo as the New Year brought with it the commitments of Bryce Underwood, the nation’s top quarterback, and Harlem Berry, the leading running back in the Class of 2025. This duo, combined with the earlier commitment from the #1 wide receiver Dakorien Moore, has transformed the Tigers’ 2025 class into a powerhouse.
These three 5-star recruits have not only elevated LSU’s class to the second rank nationally but have also brought an air of invincibility to the team. Their 2023 performances were nothing short of spectacular, with Underwood’s 3,329 passing yards and 41 touchdowns, Berry’s 2,080 rushing yards and 37 touchdowns, and Moore’s 71 catches for 1,523 yards and 18 touchdowns, setting high expectations for their college careers.
The signings of these phenomenal athletes are not just about numbers; they carry a deeper significance. Bryce Underwood’s decision to join LSU, overlooking offers from Alabama and Michigan, was influenced by the rich history of LSU football and the allure of its coaching staff and atmosphere. Harlem Berry, a product of St. Martin’s Episcopal School in Metairie, Louisiana, and a testament to the recruiting talents of Frank Wilson, chose the Tigers over Florida and Texas.
Dakorien Moore, a multi-sport athlete with extraordinary speed and skills, adds another dimension to this formidable class. The arrival of these talents at LSU is a testament to the university’s commitment to excellence and its magnetic appeal to young athletes. This trio of stars is poised to write a new chapter in LSU’s football legacy, promising an era of thrilling games and potential championships.
