NFL stats and records, Week 4: Rams' Puka Nacua on pace for WR record; Ashton Jeanty joins historic RB duo in Raiders history

NFL Research spotlights the best nuggets from each slate of games. Here are the most eye-popping statistical accomplishments from Week 4 of the 2025 NFL season.

Puka Nacua entered Week 4 as the NFL’s leading receiver and piled on another 170 receiving yards against the Colts on Sunday for good measure. What’s more than his NFL-best 503 yards this season are his 42 receptions — which tied his old teammate Cooper Kupp (2022) and Michael Thomas (2018) for the most receptions in the first four games of the season in NFL history.

Nacua’s big game was the sixth of his career in which he had at least 150 receiving yards (including playoffs). The only players with more such games through three seasons are Randy Moss (seven) and Justin Jefferson (eight).

His quarterback Matthew Stafford, who threw for a season-high 375 yards, made history on a connection with a different receiver. With 1:33 left in regulation, tied 20-20, Stafford found Tutu Atwell for an 88-yard touchdown — setting a Super Bowl era-record for the longest game-winning touchdown from scrimmage with less than two minutes remaining in regulation.

Two multi-time NFL MVP quarterbacks enter, one leaves 1-3. Those were the stakes for Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes on Sunday. While Jackson unfortunately left the game early with hamstring injury, Mahomes made history in the Chiefs’ win over Baltimore.

Mahomes, who finished with 270 passing yards and four touchdowns, threw his 249th, and 250th (and 251st, and 252nd) career touchdowns – becoming the youngest player in NFL history to reach the 250-touchdown-mark at just 30 years old (Mahomes’ birthday was on September 17). He broke Dan Marino’s record, who threw his 250th touchdown at 30 years and one-and-a-half months of age. It also took Mahomes the fewest games played to reach that mark (116 games, previous record was 121 games by Aaron Rodgers).

In his career Mahomes has thrown at least four touchdowns in a game 18 times, which broke a tie for the most such games in a player’s first 10 career seasons. Just two caveats for that — one: Mahomes is four games into his ninth NFL season, and two: he played just one game his rookie year.
