(Summary) LSU football has new leadership, as Brian Kelly arrives from Notre Dame to inherit a program that won a national championship just three seasons ago. It has not been pretty for the Tigers since then, as they went 5-5 in 2020 and 6-7 in 2021, as they announced they would move on from Ed Orgeron in mid-October.
Orgeron was able to get LSU back on track after firing Les Miles, but Kelly could do more than just keep them back on track, according to Paul Finebaum,
“Brian Kelly reminds me of that 60-year-old guy who just got remarried,” Finebaum said with a laugh during his weekly hit on McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning. “And he’s just been to Cabo with his wife and he’s tanned and happy for the first time in 20 years and he’s like, ‘Whatever happened before doesn’t exist anymore.’ It’s just really remarkable. And I’ve known this guy for a long time and have had some difficulties with him because, in the past, he could have been very surely and very difficult. But he’s not like that anymore. And I saw a change before he left Notre Dame.
