Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders exited their game against the Buffalo Bills in the second quarter. He had an apparent laceration on his right pinky finger. That’s his throwing hand.
Sanders did not immediately go down but substituted himself out of the game for Dillon Gabriel . That was prior to a key third and goal spot. The Browns weren’t able to convert and had to settle for a field goal. That made it a 13-10 Buffalo lead with just under six minutes left in the second quarter. Later, it would be shown that his hand got stepped on.

The broadcast would show Sanders’ hand, which had clear blood at the tip of his pinky finger. He’d exit the game for the Cleveland locker room. At the time of the injury, Sanders was 10/13 for 109 yards on the day. That was with one touchdown and one interception.
Luckily, Shedeur Sanders was quickly able to return to the game. He came back out ahead of the two-minute warning, missing a Buffalo touchdown drive that made it 20-10. He’d get back out onto the field, and CBS sideline reporter Evan Washburn shared a quick update.
“Shedeur Sanders back out on the field,” Washburn said. “It was the right pinky. He came back out after that touchdown, took some snaps under center, a couple of throws. Appears to be a bit of a sleeve on that right pinky. Some tape to give it something, but nothing substantial in terms of that right hand.”
