The New Orleans Saints are 2-0 when dealing with QB’s selecting them over Miami. The latest was QB Teddy Bridgewater who is from the Miami area choosing to stay put in New Orleans despite more years and money being thrown at him by the Dolphins. Bridgewater who was traded to The Saints from the Jets in August of 2018 for a 3rd round pick, has settled into the city and is patently learning while waiting his chance to head one of the most explosive units in the league.
The former first round Louisville Quarterback has agreed to sign with New Orleans according to NFL.com for a one year deal work just over seven million. Bridgewater the former 2014 first round draft pick by the Minnesota Vikings went on to become rookie of the year, named to the 2015 Pro-Bowl and has a 17-12 record as a starter. He has overcome injury to find himself as the potential QB starter once Hall Of Fame QB Drew Brees retires.
Drew Brees was the other QB who decided to take the QB job post Katrina during the cities rebuild. The Dolphins at the time were choosing between the likes of Brees & QB Dante Culpepper. Miami decided on Culpepper and the rest is black & gold history. Brees would then accept the job and later on lead the team to multiple winning seasons then the only Super Bowl win. As far as QB’s are concerned the Saints are undefeated verses Miami and lets hope Teddy B can live up the lofty accomplishments of his predecessor.
