New Orleans, LA- The New Orleans Pelicans have for sometime have held the first selection in tonight’s NBA Draft. The choice was obvious and the Pel’s made it official by making phenom Zion Williamson its new franchise star. Williamson who is 6-7 285 lbs averaged in 33 games 22.6 ppg 9 rpg while shooting a mind blowing 68% from the field for Duke.

The focus of the team is to assemble a unit of that will support Zion and ultimately compete now in the Western Conference.

The Pelicans sent disgruntled former franchise cornerstone Anthony Davis packing to the Los Angeles Lakers, which created a opening for Williamson. The Pelican Brass also made several trades in an attempt to acquire draft capital while moving Solomon Hills ridiculous contract.

Williamson is considered a once in a lifetime generational talent who will carry the next group of NBA superstars into the future. The addition of Zion along with the rest of the Pelicans talent has New Orleans along with the basketball world buzzing with excitement about the future.

The Pels traded the 4th overall pick acquired from the Lakers in the Anthony Davis to the Atlanta Hawks for the 8th, 17th, 35th and 2020 1st round protected pick. The New Orleans Pelicans potential starting lineup looks like this:

PF- Zion Williamson
